Current Selection:
As used above, the term "current selection" refers to the currently
active Entry/Edit form. Since CCS Accounting
allows multiple Companies and Entry/Edit forms to be open simultaneously,
the CCS Accounting program tracks where you are currently working (or
where you were working last -- the last location of the cursor or focus).
When you select an item such as NEXT RECORD from a toolbar, the next record
of the currently active form, within the currently active COMPANY, is
accessed (if available) and displayed in the currently active form. For
example, if you are working in the CCS Training Program and have opened
both the EMPLOYEE FORM and TAGS
FORM, and are in the process of editing a TAG when you click the NEXT
RECORD, the edit changes made to the TAG will be saved and the next the
TAG in the TAGS table will be displayed.
The EMPLOYEE FORM will not be affected. If you have "wandered around"
a bit and are not sure which form will be affected by a toolbar command,
simply note the main window's TITLE, which always displays the currently
active COMPANY and form. If you have multiple dialogs open, the currently
active dialog will show its normal color in the frame TITLE, whereas inactive
dialogs will be shown with a light gray (disabled) color. As you move
from form to form, the buttons state (lighted or not) will be updated
to reflect the buttons that are available based on the form that is most
recently active. If a button is not effecting the form you want, simply
position the cursor within the form you want to work with, then retry
the toolbar command.
